Ahead of the Chitra Pournami festival in Tiruvannamalai on April 30 and May 1, 2026, extensive arrangements have been made to ensure smooth movement of devotees and avoid traffic congestion.

Temporary Bus Arrangements

– A total of 16 temporary bus stands have been set up across the town.
– All buses must stop only at designated temporary bus stations. Stopping on roadsides is strictly prohibited, and violations will attract fines and vehicle towing.
– Free shuttle buses (government and private) will operate at regular intervals from these points to the temple town.

Key Route-Based Bus Parking Points:

– Vellore Road: Buses from Vellore, Tirupati, Chittoor, Arcot, Arani to stop at Anna Arch Bus Stand.
– Avalurpet Road: Buses from Kanchipuram, Vandavasi to stop near Kiliyapattu village.
– Tindivanam Road: Buses from Chennai, Puducherry to stop at New Central Bus Stand.
– Vettavalam Road: Buses from Villupuram to stop at Endhal Surveyor Nagar.
– Tirukovilur Road: Buses from southern districts to stop at Aravindan Nagar & Municipal School grounds.
– Chengam Road: Buses from Bengaluru, Salem, Coimbatore to use multiple temporary parking lands near Girivalam path.

– Around 90 designated parking locations have been arranged across major entry routes.
– Vehicles must be parked only in approved parking zones; roadside parking is banned with penalties enforced.
– Shuttle services will connect parking zones to the main town.
